A New Scotland

It’s time to be loyal to your future not to your past. Throw off the shackles and the options truly are limited only by our imaginations.

Let’s choose to be inspired and to be inspiring. Together can achieve more for Scotland by offering hope rather than despair and by showing compassion instead of hatred.

YES – We’re all in this together

We all make mistakes and we’re all entitled to change our minds, particularly when presented with new information. This is important to bear in mind if you are attempting to persuade someone over to your point of view. Being sanctimonious, critical or outright contemptible is unlikely to win anyone over to your side and may result in the individual in question closing themselves off from further debate on the subject (even with others). So if you can’t approach the subject of Scottish Independence with tolerance and understanding then please PLEASE keep yourself out of the debate. Such negative views are, in my opinion, best left unvoiced.

The Yes movement is open to everyone who would choose to join with the best of intentions (and by that I mean that it is not a place for hatred or discrimination). Independence is never intended as a device to divide Scots but rather to unify us in a common belief that Westminster has failed Scotland and that our country will be better served with the autonomy to make all its own decisions.

Let’s all be a positive voice for Scotland.

Wakey Wakey

Waken someone Scottish from their unionist media slumber by reaching out to them in a positive and open manner. Many people have an aversion to ‘political’ conversation so maybe don’t make it about politics make it about ‘life’. Raise someone’s awareness of all the positive effects that the Scottish government is having on our lives.

Remember it doesn’t need to be a lengthy debate it could simply be a positive remark about; that free prescription you just collected, or how your kid is getting a free university education, or the halt on fracking, or Or OR. In fact it could be easier still by leaving your copy of the National or iScot magazine in a waiting room at the doctor, dentist or a local cafe, the train, a neighbour of family members home.

The opportunities to positively endorse Scotland and to promote its journey to independence are limited only by your imagination.

Hope not Hate

I’m for building a new Scotland free from the shackles and limitations of Westminster. It is a place for hope and aspiration fuelled by positivity. Hatred and division have no part in it, such negativity should be left in the past where it belongs. Scotland has a rich heritage and history which will never be forgotten but that is its past, not its present or indeed its future.

Scotland is a luxurious tapestry formed  from the threads of so many; peoples, cultures, beliefs, who have chosen to make this nation their home. As a people we choose not to hate for there in lies the errors of the past. The Yes movement is open to everyone who would willingly choose to join it, as an iScotland will also be.

I’m not for sending anyone ‘home’ because if you chose to embrace this country and to be Scottish then You Are Home.

Scotland Together

In the past three plus years the U.K. have wholly failed to follow through on the promises and declarations made during their Better Together campaign.  There should be little doubt now that Scotland can, and will, be a successful and forward looking independent nation. It is time to remove the shackles of Westminster and realise our true potential.

Let’s secure an #altogetherbetter Scotland for all our children. I can’t say it will be easy but it will be worth it!
