The Band is Back

Democracy is on the move marching to a tartan beat

With Saltires flying high once more on every Scottish street
Hearts are reignited and they’re dancing to a tune
For the pipes and drums are playing: “We’ll Be Independent Soon”.

They’ll be hanging out their tenements to watch the great parade
Some of you will walk down streets where, as children, you once played,
If you know an undecided, bring them in, give them a hand
For we’re all on the same journey to our Independent land.

You’ll get the wave, the nod, the wink, the smiles from passers-by
You’ll get the car horns beeping and drivers shouting Aye!
Some shoppers will give you dirty looks; some will even think they’re grand,
They’ll free money from their wallets while you march to free your land.

I hear you chant, I see you laugh, I’ve been there and it’s fun
And the road that you now travel is for your daughters and your sons
So grab your friends and neighbours, walk together side by side
Make them feel Independent and let them share your pride.

It’s a spectacle of colour where you get to meet new friends,
And I’m talking from experience, those friendships never end
They’re always there beside you, always there to lend a hand
They’re The Independence Movement and they just want back their land.

Bring those who fear a government that will send them from our shores
Call all our EU citizens let them know we’ve open doors
And that immigrants are welcome to march with us today,
Together we’ll go forward to our Independence Day.

A Change for the Better

It is said that Insanity is doing the same thing, over and over again, but expecting different results. Scotland needs change, real change that it’s relationship with Westminster will NEVER bring. Independence offers Scotland the opportunity to begin again and to learn from the mistakes of the past rather than continue to repeat them.

So are you Yes yet?

Dundee Bound

We are travelling to Dundee for AUOB this weekend with some of our ten thousand new A6 flyers. If you see us come over and say hello and take one away with you for display or to pass on. If it’s not to windy we’ll erect our roller banner so that hopefully it will be easy to find us.

Our sincere thanks to everyone who has donated to our crowdfunder so far and made this possible.

If you should wish to make a contribution toward the future production of materials you will find a PayPal link at the bottom of this webpage. Please note that YSF is not for profit and is run on a voluntary basis.

A Timely Reminder

Nicola Sturgeon made the following remarks while addressing the SNP’s spring conference in March 2017.

She extended an invitation to everyone “as appalled as we are at the path this Westminster government is taking.”  and declared that Scotland will stage another “independence referendum.”

“Scotland isn’t full up. If you are as appalled as we are at the path this Westminster government is taking, come and join us,” she said. “Come here to live, work, invest or study. Come to Scotland and be part of building a modern, progressive, outward-looking, compassionate country,” she continued.

Ms Sturgeon accused Theresa May of seeking a hard Brexit and attacked the prime minister’s “intransigence.”. “The Prime Minister’s attitude should worry all of us hoping that negotiations with Europe will not be a disaster because—and let me put this bluntly—if she shows the same condescension and inflexibility, the same tin ear, to other EU countries as she has to Scotland then the Brexit process will hit the rocks,” she continued.

“In an independent Scotland, the SNP would guarantee unequivocally the right to stay here for all EU citizens who do us the honor of making our country their home,” she reiterated.
